Egg is a food that is present on the table of millions of Brazilians daily, precisely because it is a versatile product with a more accessible value. However, its consumption is also a dietary habit in several countries, and can be seen in the daily lives of millions of people from the most diverse cultures. Therefore, the export of eggs can be very advantageous, taking into account that Brazil is among the 10 largest producers in the world, with a projection of 56.21 billion units for this year.
Multiple markets in the world
Brazilian eggs are already on the table of consumers in over 22 countries, including the United Arab Emirates, Hong Kong and Venezuela, which stand out among the main importers of the Brazilian product. Furthermore, the agreement made by the Brazilian Association of Animal Protein (ABPA), in September 2020, to start exporting eggs to Mexico, the largest per capita egg consumer in the world, makes the market even more assertive to success.
Last year, due to the Covid-19 crisis, the sale of eggs abroad was impaired and business focused on the domestic market, however, the ABPA projects a recovery in exports, with an advance of 50% for this year of 2021 , reaching 8 million tons sold. This projection can already be seen when comparing the volume exported in January this year to that of 2020, reaching 2.608 thousand tons, an increase of 34.3% compared to the previous year. According to studies by Ovosite in conjunction with Comex Stat, a foreign trade statistics system, the volume of exported commercial eggs continues to show an increase for the fourth consecutive month, reaching the highest volume since February 2016.
The importance of an international consultancy
Thus, we can see the great potential of the egg and its export, offering an opportunity for Brazilian producers to expand their business and enter the international market. It is worth remembering that with a well-structured strategy and knowledge of the new market, the guarantee of success in the internationalization process becomes even greater.
